Get to Know East Roger's Park

Head north on Lake Shore Drive to find a lifestyle that is similar to the near north area, but less expensive. East Roger's Park is a smaller neighborhood within Roger's Park, with Sheridan Road to the west and Lake Michigan to the east. The town of Evanston, and Chicago's border is north, Devon Avenue is south. Residents are proud to be a thriving melting-pot community.

What to do in East Roger's Park

The most obvious benefit of East Roger's Park is the wide variety of lakefront recreational activities that are close by. Here, along Lake Michigan, there are eight sandy beaches and many beachfront parks for tennis, basketball and family fun.

With Lake Shore Drive and the rapid transit line nearby, access to downtown Chicago via car, train and public transportation is excellent. East Rogers Park is home to Loyola University's Lake Shore Campus. Many fine restaurants, interesting theaters and unique shops dot the streets. Neighborhood amenities have recently grown to offer a variety of new business and shopping districts, throughout the area.

East Roger's Park's Distinctive Housing

This neighborhood consists of condominiums and apartments, many of which offer great views of Lake Michigan. Housing is affordable, but noticeably on the rise. A high-rise construction ban has sparked an apartment rehab boom, as most buildings in the area are either low-rise or two- and three- flats. Overall, the community has grown with hundreds of new affordable units being developed each year.
