Get to Know Ukrainian Village
One of the most distinct areas of Chicago, Ukrainian Village is a unique neighborhood located along Chicago Avenue. Ukrainian Village with East Village, Wicker Park, Noble Square, and Eckhart Park, create the community known as West Town.
Thanks to its European roots, Ukrainian Village is still home to many ornate orthodox cathedrals with gorgeous domes. Much like a traditional village, colorful flower boxes adorn its many well-kept streets and homes.
What to do in Ukrainian Village
With trendy Wicker Park nearby, residents have immediate access to dozens of spectacular restaurants, eclectic boutiques and art galleries. Ukrainian Village residents also have an excellent, 10-minute ride to the Loop and an easy commute to O’Hare via the CTA’s Blue Line.
Ukrainian Village’s Distinctive Housing
Ukrainian Village retains much of the character of a European community. Small bungalows, as well as two- and three-flats, are the predominant architectural styles. Like much of the area, urban pioneers and entrepreneurs have rediscovered it, attracted by lower real estate prices and accessibility to the Loop and expressways.
