Get to Know East Village
East Village got its start as an Eastern European community. Its desirable location is just 10 minutes from the Loop, a few blocks from the hip Wicker Park neighborhood, and just East of Ukrainian Village. Like much of the area, East Village as been reborn, thanks to urban pioneers, artists and entrepreneurs who were attracted by lower real estate prices. Today, there still are some opportunities to find affordable properties.
What to do in East Village
Close to the Loop and Wicker Park, East Village provides proximity to Chicago's outstanding theaters, museums and galleries, as well as the trendier fare near Milwaukee and Damen. White Sox fans might also like the area for its proximity to the ballpark that most still call Comisky Park. East Village also offers immediate access to the city's highway system.
